Deep within the mesmerizing rolling hills, lived a shepherd boy. His existence was essentially unadulterated, simple, and honest. His only responsibility was to look after his herd of rams.
Their low murmuring and the rustling of the breezes across the single tree on the hilltop were his only companions. Day in day, guarding his wards instilled in him a notion of tranquil contentment.
However, there were at times moments of isolation, when the shepherd boy would yearn for companionship. During one such occasion from sheer monotony, the shepherd boy orchestrated a mischievous scheme.
Stories of wild beasts hunting on sheep had long been circulating in the town. So, the boy decided to exploit this fear and played a trick on the villagers.
One day he ran into the village yelling “Wolf! A wolf is that has taken my sheep!” The frightened villagers sprinted up the hills to offer assistance but discovered no beast.

His tale of this shepherd boy has been transmitted generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the value of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the risks of crying wolf. Moreover, it stresses how trust once lost, is tough to reclaim. It's a story as relevant today as it was anciently.
